Service details: what to bring and what happens
Bring vehicle registration or title information, keys and any previous failed-inspection report. Tell us your vehicle class and how to reach you. The inspector checks required safety equipment, records the result and explains any rejected items. Repairs require separate authorization.
Prepare online check-inFailed inspection and re-inspection
Return to the original station and registered inspector within 30 days and with fewer than 1,000 additional miles. Visual-only rechecks are free; equipment-based rechecks may have a prorated fee. Repair anywhere. Newly observed defects must also be corrected. Outside either limit, a new complete inspection is required.

Does online check-in reserve an Express slot?
No. Online check-in prepares your information. The team must confirm an Express sedan appointment and inspector availability.
Can I choose a different repair shop?
Yes. You can repair the vehicle yourself or choose any repair shop. Return to the original station and inspector for an eligible re-inspection.
