Repair rights & authorization
Understand estimates, repair approvals, your parts, and your signed check-in.
Updated September 29, 2026
Maryland customer rights
- You may request a written estimate for repairs costing more than $50.
- You may not be charged more than 10% above the written estimate without your consent.
- You are entitled to the return of replaced parts, except parts that must go back to the manufacturer under a warranty agreement.
- Repairs you did not originally authorize may not be charged without your consent.
Tell the advisor if you want an estimate or your replaced parts before work begins. These rights apply alongside the transaction documents; a website notice does not replace the authorization form and copy you receive for your visit. Maryland Commercial Law §14-1008.
What signing check-in means
Check-in records the vehicle, concern and your selected authorizations. It is not open-ended permission for unrelated repairs. Diagnostic testing and road testing have separate choices. The advisor must discuss any unapproved work or fee before proceeding. Optional texting is separate from your repair signature.
Your signed intake includes the authorization text, version, time and selected choices. Keep your confirmation and signed receipt; ask the front desk for a copy if you cannot download it. You can request a paper authorization instead of signing online.
Estimates, inspection and coverage
Online price ranges are planning information. Parts, tax, fees and any storage or outside service must be explained in the applicable estimate or agreement. Maryland State Inspection is handled at the authorized Annapolis Road location; vehicle class, inspector availability and applicable reinspection terms must be confirmed. A pass cannot be promised.
Insurance authorization and your repair authorization are separate. Ask about deductibles, insurer decisions and any balance before approval. Warranty coverage is described in the limited repair warranty and your transaction documents.
