AI & automation disclosure
What the automated guide can do, where people make decisions, and how to ask for help.
Updated September 29, 2026
You are talking to an automated guide
The public M&A assistant uses prepared answers for common service questions. Other questions may use OpenAI when connected. It is not a live employee. The visible conversation stays in this open page; no full transcript is sent to the model.
People confirm the important decisions
Automated text, translations, price ranges and staff drafting tools can be incomplete or wrong. An advisor confirms your estimate, the work and service arrangements; a qualified technician inspects the vehicle. An automated suggestion is not a diagnosis, an official Maryland inspection result, a guarantee of safety, an insurer’s approval or a financing decision.
Staff must review automated drafts for accuracy and appropriate recipients before using them. Additional repairs require customer authorization. This public guide does not make decisions about employment, credit or eligibility for service.
Customer AI answers
For an AI answer, the assistant sends your current question, selected service, vehicle class and location, and a short set of public shop or repair-guide facts to OpenAI. It does not read your repair file, submit a booking, order parts or send a message. Keep contact details, VINs, PINs and documents in the booking form or Digital Garage.
Prepared answers do not use model tokens. AI answers use one bounded request, with no tool calls or automatic retries. M&A does not save this conversation in its customer database. Requests use store:false; OpenAI’s API processing and retention policies still apply. Live staff chat is separate. You can use the service links or call instead.
Connected staff assistant
The signed-in M&A staff assistant reads only the repair board, bookings, follow-ups and provider settings allowed by that staff account. The work-order list stays in the shop workspace. For an AI answer, the question staff type and a summary of permitted counts, source availability and provider status are sent to OpenAI through the existing shop integration. Customer names, contact details, VINs, private notes and provider keys are not automatically included in that summary. Staff should keep personal details and secrets out of their questions.
Ordinary questions do not create a customer note, send a message or authorize work. The separate Prepare a draft mode saves a draft in the shop system; staff review its contents and target before applying it. The assistant conversation stays in the open page; saved drafts and applied actions follow the shop system’s record retention. Operational outlook uses recorded stages, deadlines and staff-entered planning assumptions. It does not predict a mechanical failure or guarantee a finish time. Saved provider readiness is separate from a successful live response.
AI tools and private information
This notice is not permission to send customer records to an unrelated AI service or use them to train a model. Any additional AI feature that processes personal information needs a clear explanation of its purpose, the information involved, the provider and relevant choices before that use begins. Staff should use only approved tools and the minimum information needed for the task.
Read our privacy notice for the connected service systems. Information entered in the public guide is not used by this guide for model training.
Talk to a person
You can call or email for help without using the guide. If translated or automated wording is unclear, ask an advisor to explain it before you agree. For fire, injury or immediate danger, call 911.
