M&A CAR CARE GUIDE

A no-start problem, one clear step at a time.

A car that will not start can have a weak battery, a charging fault, a starter issue or something else. These observations help you explain the problem without guessing at parts.

Listen and look before trying again

Does the engine crank slowly, click once, click rapidly or turn over normally without starting? Note whether the lights dim and whether the dashboard has a charging warning. Avoid repeated long cranking, which can drain the battery further.

A jump start is a clue, not a diagnosis

If the car starts with outside power, the battery may be weak, but an alternator, cable connection or parasitic draw can also be involved. Follow the vehicle manual for jump-start points and procedure. If you are unsure, ask for roadside help.

Why testing matters

A technician can inspect connections and test battery condition and charging voltage. Replacing a battery without checking the charging system may leave you stranded again. Tell the advisor if the vehicle sat unused, needed several jumps or recently had electrical work.

Choose mobile, tow or shop

Share your exact parking location and whether the vehicle is safe to access. Our team confirms if mobile support can handle the job. If the car cannot be moved or is in an unsafe location, request towing and wait for dispatch confirmation.
