Treat flashing differently from steady
A steady light often allows careful scheduling, but a flashing light commonly signals a more urgent fault. Severe shaking, smoke, overheating or major power loss increases the risk.

Stop when continued driving is unsafe
Move to a safe place and shut the engine off if the vehicle is shaking badly, overheating or losing power. Roadside help is safer than forcing the car to the shop.

Do not buy a part from the code alone
Codes and scan data guide testing but do not prove that a coil, injector, sensor or converter is the cause. Diagnosis should confirm the fault.
