Quick note: This guide helps you understand the issue and prepare for service. It is not a vehicle-specific diagnosis.
1
Squealing
A squeal can come from wear indicators, glazing, hardware movement or contamination. It should be evaluated with pad thickness and rotor condition.
2
Grinding
Grinding may indicate severe wear or contact between components that should not touch. Continued driving can increase repair cost and reduce braking performance.
3
Vibration or pulsation
A shaking steering wheel or pedal pulsation can involve rotor variation, wheel or suspension issues. A road test and measurement help separate the causes.
