Airflow changes at idle
At road speed, air naturally moves through the condenser. At idle, electric or mechanical cooling fans must provide that airflow. A weak fan, control problem or blocked condenser can reduce cooling.

Other possible causes
Low refrigerant, compressor wear, pressure-control problems and electrical faults can create similar symptoms. Testing pressures and temperatures is more reliable than adding refrigerant without diagnosis.

What to record for the technician
Note outside temperature, whether the engine temperature rises, whether both fans operate and whether cooling improves immediately after the vehicle starts moving.
